About KKCW Services LLC
The first real snow of a Baltimore winter usually arrives at night, riding a wind that comes up off the harbor and whitens Federal Hill's slope before anyone has thought to find the shovel. KKCW Services LLC plans for that night all year. When it comes, the crew is moving — plowing lots, clearing drives, scraping walks down to the pavement, spreading salt where the melt will refreeze by dawn. A cleared entrance at six in the morning is a small, unglamorous gift, and it is the entire business. The city can have its snow day; the people who still have somewhere to be will find their way open.
