Charm City Haulers

About Charm City Haulers

They call it Charm City, and the charm is mostly work nobody watches. Charm City Haulers runs snow routes through Baltimore's coldest nights — pushing powder off parking lots, scraping slush from the brick and cobblestone down by Fells Point, throwing salt in wide, even arcs. Harbor snow is fickle, freezing and thawing and freezing again, so the job is half muscle and half timing. The crew reads the pavement, hits the refreeze before it glazes, and doubles back where the wind rebuilds the drifts. Morning finds the lots open and the walks bare, like the storm changed its mind.
