The name holds both halves of the year, and so does Lake Quinsigamond — open and glittering under the shell boats in August, gray and rimmed with ice by January. GreenWhite Services works either end of that swing. The warm months mean mowing, string trimming, edging, bed mulching and the cleanups that bracket the growing season; the cold ones mean plowing driveways, shoveling walkways and treating them before ice takes hold. On the lakeside streets the grade runs right down toward the water, which makes mowing a matter of balance in July and clearing a matter of traction in February.
