Horn Pond gives Woburn a calendar of its own — mist lifting off open water in April, a gray skin of ice across it by late December. A & AL Landscape INC works to that clock, mowing, trimming and edging while the water is open, then turning to plow blades and salt once the north wind settles into the city. The streets that climb away from the shore hold cold longer than the flats, and a driveway there earns its clearing twice over. There is a real pleasure in a lawn cut straight along the walk in June and the same address opened wide before the first car backs out in January. Woburn asks for both halves of the year, and both halves get the same care.
