About American Outdoor Services, Inc.

Nor'easters find Whitman from the east, off water that lies a short drive away, and the first sign is usually the way the wind turns on Bedford Street. American Outdoor Services, Inc. keeps its winter hours by that clock — out early, plowing driveways and lots while the flat sandy plain the town sits on is still blue-dark. Whitman is a compact place of short streets and close-set houses, so the work happens in careful passes rather than long open runs. There is real satisfaction in the moment a driveway comes clean down to the pavement and a car backs out without a second thought. Walkways get shoveled, the ice gets sanded, and the storm gets watched until it has genuinely finished.
