Robert & Dad's Yard Service

About Robert & Dad's Yard Service

Down in Idlewell the streets narrow as they run toward King's Cove, and the yards are small, sloped and close together — each one its own little puzzle. Robert & Dad's Yard Service works these blocks all the way around the calendar: mowing, trimming and edging through the warm months, then plowing, shoveling and salting once the harbor wind goes raw. Small lots reward hand work, so a good share of it happens with a trimmer and a shovel rather than a big machine. In summer that shows up as a clean line where the grass meets the fence; in winter it is a path to the door wide enough to carry groceries through. Close-up work for a close-up neighborhood.
