About Carvalho's Landscaping Service, Inc.

When a nor'easter crosses Buzzards Bay, Westport gets it with salt in the wind and drifts stacking against the stone walls of the hayfields. Carvalho's Landscaping Service, Inc. runs both halves of that year — plowing, shoveling of walks and steps, and sanding and salting while the storm is still blowing; then mowing, edging, trimming, and cleanups once the ground lets go. There is a particular pride in a driveway opened before the first cup of coffee, curb to garage door, nothing left for anyone to do but drive out. By June the same properties are cut in long clean passes with the East Branch of the Westport River shining beyond the fields. The season closes the way it opened, with the leaves hauled off and the pavement ready for the next storm.
