Westhampton is hill country — Route 66 climbing west out of the valley, dirt roads running off it, the Manhan starting small in the folds between farms. Dunn's Excavating LLC keeps lawns here mowed, trimmed and edged, mulch in the beds, and the leaves cleared when the hillsides turn and drop. Rural yards run big and uneven, bordered by stone wall and pasture, so a cut takes time and some judgment about ground that is never quite level. In a town this small, the difference a kept lawn makes is visible from the road for a mile. Spring and fall cleanups bracket it all, before the hills go quiet again.
