About Doucette Landscaping Inc.

Twice a day Wellfleet Harbor empties itself and the flats come up the color of hammered pewter, bright under that thin Outer Cape light. Doucette Landscaping Inc. tends the yards on the slopes above that water, where salt wind and sandy ground ask more of a lawn than any inland town does. Mowing, trimming, edging, mulch worked into the beds, and cleanups at both ends of the growing season — the pleasure of it is a border cut so crisp you can see it from the road. In winter the same trucks are out plowing while the harbor is still black, opening driveways and walkways before the town has had its coffee. Salt and sand go down where a drive tips toward the street. Tides keep their own schedule out here, and so does this crew.
