At Elm Bank the Charles loops slow and wide along Wellesley's southern edge, and the old estate gardens there still teach anybody who walks them. Gardenscape Corporation carries that sensibility into the town's yards, shaping and feeding planting beds, pruning shrubs back toward their natural line, renewing mulch, and keeping lawns mown and trimmed on a steady cycle. River-bottom ground drains one way and the upland streets quite another, so the plan shifts block by block. There is real pleasure in walking off a property in June and seeing every part of it hold together as one composition. A garden that looks effortless from the sidewalk took the most thought.
