About R. DeSantis Jr. & Sons

Wind that has crossed the whole open water of the Quabbin arrives in Ware carrying snow sideways down Route 9. R. DeSantis Jr. & Sons is out in it — plowing driveways and lots, clearing turnarounds and entryways, shoveling walks down to bare surface, putting salt or sand wherever ice wants to form. Drifting is the local problem here: a driveway can look finished and be closed again before you reach the end of the street. The answer is another pass, and then one more if it takes one. Getting a household out the door on a bad morning counts as a good day's work in this town.
