De Santis Garage

About De Santis Garage

Winter arrives in Ware from the northwest, down over the hills toward Hardwick, and by the time it reaches Route 32 there is real work waiting. De Santis Garage is a garage first — cold starts, the sound a truck makes in January — and that same mechanical patience goes into the plowing. Drives get opened wide enough for two cars and the mailbox, walks get cut down to the door, and the ice on the steps gets handled before anyone has to think about it. Pulling back onto the road at four in the morning, headlights sweeping a street that is finished, is about as good as this work gets. Snow removal for Ware and the surrounding towns.
