Walpole has the good fortune of Bird Park, where the stone bridges and long lawns set a standard the rest of the town quietly tries to meet. NatureWorks Landscape Services, Inc. works to that standard on residential grass — mowing on rhythm, trimming close, edging drives and walks, and clearing out the beds each spring. The land rolls gently from the Neponset toward the trails at Adams Farm, and the yards follow it, which makes a level-looking cut a matter of skill rather than luck. October means leaves in earnest, and a lawn combed clean before the frost sets is a good way to close the season. Then the light comes back in April and the whole town asks for its first cut at once.
