In February the ferry slides into an almost empty Vineyard Haven harbor, and Tisbury belongs entirely to the people who live here. Doctor's Landscape works both halves of that year — plowing driveways and lots, clearing walks and sanding the slick spots when a storm crosses the Sound, then mowing, trimming, edging, and running cleanups once the island fills back up. Island winter is wind more than depth: drifting, freezing, then rain, which asks for attention rather than brute force. Summer is the opposite, everything growing at once and every yard wanting to look its part. Either way the goal is the same — a place that is open, tidy, and ready for whoever pulls into the drive.
