Rayner Enterprises

About Rayner Enterprises

Three in the morning, a nor'easter working its way up the Merrimack, and Tewksbury is nothing but streetlight and horizontal white. Rayner Enterprises is out in the middle of it — plowing driveways and lots, opening walkways, putting sand down where ice has already begun to set. Wet coastal snow is heavy and it arrives fast, and it will bury an hour's work while you are finishing the next property, so the routes get run again and again until the sky finally lets up. There is a stretch right after a storm passes when the town is silent and blue and completely clear, and it is hard to beat. Then the plows go home and everybody else's day begins on time.
