About Z. Hastings Landscape Construction

Between Templeton and Gardner the land lifts, and what falls as rain down in the valley comes down white up on the ridge. Z. Hastings Landscape Construction runs snow work across that high ground — plowing drives and lots, clearing paths to doors and oil fills, sanding where grade and wind conspire. A north wind will refill a driveway an hour after it is finished, so the job is as much about knowing where drifts build as it is about pushing snow. The best hours are the still ones just after a storm, when the fields are blue in the half light and the only tracks belong to the truck. Then the sun comes up on an open driveway and the day can start on time.
