About Echo Excavation LLC

In Baldwinville the Otter River slides past the old mill blocks, and on a storm night the streetlights turn every falling flake orange. Echo Excavation LLC is out in that light — plowing driveways, cutting the banks back so the next storm has somewhere to go, salting the steep spots where the village streets tip toward the water. Storms in this corner of Worcester County tend to arrive after supper and keep going, which is why the work gets measured in passes rather than hours. By the time the mill windows catch the gray of morning, the drives are open and the mailbox ends are squared off. It is a quiet sort of accomplishment, and it repeats itself all winter long.
