There is a week in late November when the Lees River turns pewter, the tide runs out fast beneath the bridge, and Swansea decides winter is real. Levesque's Landscaping works both sides of that week, leaves off the grass, beds cleaned, the mowing season closed out properly, and plow blades hung before the first flakes. Through the cold months it is driveways cleared from the street to the garage door, walks and steps opened, ice broken up with a heavy hand of sand. Come April the mowers roll again on weekly cuts, with trimming and edges kept sharp along the sidewalk. The river greens up, and the town follows a week behind it.
