Snow always finds Swansea's back roads first, Bark Street and Sharps Lot and the lanes that wander north toward the Rehoboth line where the fields open up and the wind has room to work. D&D Mulch and Landscape is out in that dark, plowing driveways wide and clean, cutting a path to the door, dropping sand where the drive tips toward the road. There is a particular satisfaction in a February morning when the bank is stacked neat at the edge and nobody in the house has to think about it. Tight corners get pushed back rather than piled where they will only freeze into a wall by Thursday. By the time the headlights swing out onto the main road again, the place looks handled.
