Kent Brothers Excavating

About Kent Brothers Excavating

December's first honest storm finds Southampton's fields cut down to stubble and the long farm lanes between them waiting to be found again. Kent Brothers Excavating goes out to meet it, plowing those hundred-yard runs, opening yards and turnarounds wide enough to swing a truck, breaking the drift the wind builds across the sandy plain. Where a blade would only skim, snow comes off steps, doorways and hydrant faces by hand. Sand and salt follow, so a packed track does not turn glassy overnight. There is something steadying about a place cleared at four in the morning still sitting open and dry when the sun finds the ridge.
