About Edge Tree Service Inc.

The Mount Holyoke range shoulders up behind South Hadley, and in late winter the Connecticut runs slate-colored past the falls where the old canal locks still notch the bank. Edge Tree Service Inc. works the streets under that ridge — the neighborhoods around the Village Commons, the roads out toward the Notch and Bachelor Brook. Removal comes when a hemlock or a hollowed maple has become a question of when rather than if; trimming and pruning come when a tree simply needs room and a roof needs its clearance. Valley wind funnels through here hard enough to bring wood down, and storm damage cleanup puts the drive, the walk and the lawn back the way they were. The pleasure is in the after: a clean cut, a swept yard, a view of the ridge that wasn't there at breakfast.
