November in Somerville has a particular sound: rakes on brick, a blower somewhere two streets over, and the last stubborn leaf coming off an oak by Trum Field. Last Leaf Yard Works is built for exactly that stretch of the calendar — fall cleanups, leaf removal, beds cleared and cut back, yards emptied down to bare ground before winter arrives. The rest of the year the same yards get mowed, trimmed, edged and mulched, and opened up again when the ground thaws in spring.
