The ridge that Main Street rides gives Shrewsbury a long view northwest, and on a clear October afternoon Wachusett stands up blue at the end of it. CLPM Turf Services spends its days under that view, down in the grass itself — mowing, trimming, edging, and clearing what the maples let go. Turf is patient work; it rewards a steady hand and a schedule kept, week after week, until a lawn holds its line without being asked. The season starts with a cleanup that clears winter away and finishes with the last load of leaves hauled off in November. In between, Shrewsbury gets to be green, which is the whole point.
