Poop Scoop Squad

About Poop Scoop Squad

The first real flurry of the year usually finds Rochester on a school morning, with the buses already out on the back roads. Poop Scoop Squad is ahead of them — plowing driveways, shoveling walks and steps down to the surface, opening the mouth of the drive where the town plow throws its ridge, putting sand on whatever slope demands it. Snow work is unglamorous and entirely necessary, and it happens at an hour most of the town sleeps straight through. There is a plain satisfaction in a clean stoop and a driveway you can back out of at seven sharp. The rest of the day proceeds as if winter had not bothered.
