About Guerra Services Inc

Out at Point of Pines the houses stand between the Pines River and the open Atlantic, and when a nor'easter turns the corner the snow arrives sideways with salt spray inside it. Guerra Services Inc works those storms — plowing driveways, shoveling out steps and walks, scattering salt and sand where the wind has scoured a path down to glare ice. Drifts rebuild themselves within the hour here, so a route gets run more than once and nobody calls it finished until the wind lies down. It is cold, loud, unglamorous work, and it ends with whole streets able to get out in the morning. That is the reward, and on the right day the sunrise over the water comes with it.
