In October the bogs off Long Pond Road flood and turn red, and for a few weeks Plymouth looks like nowhere else in Massachusetts. Egan Landscape Group Inc is out through all of it — fall cleanups, leaves lifted off turf and out of beds, the last cuts of a season that began back in April with a rake and a mower. The summer weeks are simpler: mowing, trimming, borders run straight along the drives, mulch dark against green. Sandy ground here dries fast and forgives little, so the schedule matters more than any single trick. At the end of a route the lawns are level, bordered and quiet, which was always the point.
