RPM's Service Center

About RPM's Service Center

February in Pittsfield is a thaw-and-freeze town. Water runs down the streets below Wahconah Park at noon, and by dusk the same water is a sheet of gray ice across every apron and step. RPM's Service Center works that swing — plowing the fresh snow off first, then scraping the pack down and putting salt where the melt is going to come back and set. Driveways, walkways, the awkward corner where a shoveled bank keeps sliding back into the path: it all gets handled while the rest of the neighborhood is inside with the lights on. The point is a surface someone can walk without thinking about it, and there is quiet satisfaction in a cleared drive that stays cleared through the cold snap.
