About JAF Contracting

West Street runs out of Pittsfield toward Richmond and the ponds, and in a storm it is the first place you feel the wind pick loose snow up and lay it back down across the pavement. JAF Contracting works the city through those nights -- plowing driveways and parking areas, clearing walks and steps by hand, salting the shaded stretches that never quite let go of their ice. Snow here does not always fall politely; it drifts, it crusts, it comes back an hour after you have finished. The answer is going around again and leaving ground that is genuinely clear rather than merely passable. Morning should look like the storm happened somewhere else.
