Hush & Trim

About Hush & Trim

There is a half hour in a Pittsfield summer morning, before the traffic finds Elm Street, when the dew is still heavy and the whole neighborhood is holding still. Hush & Trim likes that stretch of the day for lawn care -- mowing, string-trimming along fences and foundations, edging walks and drives, then sweeping the clippings off the pavement before leaving. Grass cut on a cool morning stands up better and holds its color deep into the afternoon. The Berkshire growing season is generous and brief, and it repays a dependable week. What gets left behind is simple: an even lawn, crisp borders, nothing out of place.
