About M&R Trucking & Paving

Four in the morning, and Peabody Square is still asleep under a fresh white blanket. The old tannery streets of the Leather City lie silent, the monument at the square wears a cap of snow, and M&R Trucking & Paving is already rolling. A paving outfit sees a driveway for what it is underneath, and the plow follows that surface down to clean blacktop, taking care along the edges. By the time the first commuters nose out toward Route 114, the way is open and the banks stand pushed back, neat and square. That is the quiet satisfaction of this work: a whole city's morning made possible before anyone has poured a coffee.
