Childs Lawn Care

About Childs Lawn Care

Early in a Northampton morning the Mill River still carries night air, and the lawns along it hold dew until nearly nine. Childs Lawn Care likes that hour — the cut is clean, the stripes hold, and the trimmer sound moves down a street that is otherwise only birds and a delivery truck. The yards between Paradise Pond and the older Elm Street blocks are small and particular, full of granite steps, hedge feet and tree roots, and they reward patience over speed: mow, trim in tight, edge the walk, blow the clippings back onto the grass where they belong. Come November the same yards disappear under sugar maple leaves, and the cleanup gives them back. It is a modest kind of pride, the sort you feel walking away from a finished yard with the mower already loaded.
