In April the Ipswich River runs full through North Reading, and the low ground beside it stays soft long after the rest of town has dried out. Braga's Landscaping works the full year here — mowing, edging and cleanups through the green months, plowing drives, clearing walks and salting when storms track up the coast. River-bottom yards grow fast and grow late; a lot up on the rise asks for an entirely different pass. Opening a driveway at five in the morning so somebody can make it out to the highway on time is its own good start to a day. So is a lawn cut on a Friday evening in June, with the river loud beyond the trees.
