About AB Enterprises

May comes late to the hills above North Brookfield, and then it comes all at once — the hayfields out toward New Braintree go green in a week, and every lawn in town needs a first pass. AB Enterprises works that turning season and the long grass months after it: mowing, trimming and tidying the edges where turf gives way to old fieldstone. There is a particular pleasure in the last cut of the day, when the light drops low and the lines run straight down to the road. Yards here are rarely flat and never square; they slope, they wander around boulders and maple roots, and they reward someone willing to walk them before starting. The result is a place that looks looked-after from the mailbox — which is, most weeks, the whole point.
