April's first real green comes up out of Needham's river flats and reaches the middle of town a week late, which is when the year's rounds begin. Village Green Landscaping starts them right there — mowing, edging along walks and drives, trimming close, and the spring cleanup that clears winter out of the beds. Autumn closes the same circle with leaves and a last cut, the lawn put away neatly for the cold. Then the town goes white and the trucks head out to plow driveways, open entries and steps, and lay sand and salt where ice would otherwise set up hard. Twelve months, one property at a time.
