Grass Works

About Grass Works

July on Highland Avenue: heat shimmering off the asphalt, and every lawn in Needham asking for a different answer than it wanted in May. Grass Works raises the cut when the sun demands it, keeps the borders sharp along walks and drives, and trims fence lines and mailbox posts so nothing looks half-finished. Autumn turns the job over to cleanups and leaves, and then the plow goes on: driveways cleared, paths and stoops shoveled, salt and sand where ice likes to gather at the bottom of a slope. The name covers the whole of it — grass, and the labor that grass takes.
