The Rau Companies

About The Rau Companies

Where the Connecticut swings past Montague City the water stays open in the cold, and eagles ride above it all winter long. The Rau Companies keeps snow off the driveways and lots on this side of the river, clearing through the night so the morning belongs to everyone else. A storm that falls as rain down in the flats can be snow by the time it climbs the bank — the valley writes its own rules. Plowing here means knowing which roads drift and which ones glaze at the bottom of the hill. The payoff is small and real: a bare driveway, a swept step, coffee still hot.
