The hollows around Conant Brook hold cold the way a cellar does — snow from three storms back is still sitting there in February, and the wind keeps rearranging it across the back roads. Excavation Plus Inc plows into that: driveways cut open wide, turnarounds pushed back so the next fall has somewhere to go, walkways cleared and salted down to solid footing.
