Snow falling past a Milford streetlamp turns the whole downtown a soft blue, and the plows working under it are the only ones with anywhere to be. The Blue Plow Guy takes that shift — driveways pushed open, walkways cleared, sand and salt laid before daylight can make ice out of the melt. Storms come through this town in bands, so the truck runs the route as many times as the sky asks for. There is something plainly satisfying about a swept apron and a straight-cut bank at the curb. By breakfast the driveway is just a driveway again.
