Cold-weather work is plowing, shoveling walkways and salting the shady side of a driveway; green-weather work is mowing, trimming and hauling out everything the winter tore loose. There is one day every year when the last gray pile of plowed snow finally gives up and the grass beneath it comes out pale and flattened and ready.
