About Nichols Horticulture

Growing anything in Middleborough means learning the ground first — sand, gravel, a thin skin of topsoil, and low pockets down by the brooks where frost lingers well into spring. Nichols Horticulture starts there. Lawns mown to a rhythm the grass sets, trimming and edging kept sharp, beds weeded and mulched, and cleanups at both ends of the year done thoroughly enough to matter in the next one. Cutting grass is half of it; holding a lawn green through a dry August on ground like this is the other half. The payoff lands in late May, when turf that was thatched and grey in March has come in thick enough to walk on barefoot.
