The big oaks and white pines out around Pratt Farm make their own weather — shade in July, and by late October a slow steady rain of leaves that will smother a lawn if nobody minds it. Green Giant Landscaping minds it. Mowing right through the growing season, trimming close where a mower can't reach, then hauling off leaves and brush before they mat the grass down for the cold. When winter settles hard on the open ground north of the village the work becomes plowing, shoveling and keeping walks gritted so the mail still gets to the door. Middleborough yards are large and full of trees; that is the pleasure of the job and the whole of it.
