About NATURAL LANDSCAPE CONCEPTS

At the edge of the Nevins Bird Sanctuary the mown grass stops and the meadow begins, and that boundary is more or less the whole idea behind NATURAL LANDSCAPE CONCEPTS — a lawn ought to end on a deliberate line. Midsummer work is mowing and trimming on a set rotation, with cleanups in spring and fall that bring beds and turf edges back to something crisp. Methuen ground holds heat by July and the grass wants cutting high; by late October it wants cutting short and swept clear of leaves. When snow takes the calendar over, the plow takes over too: driveways and walkways opened, treatment laid where ice forms first. The place keeps changing; the attention does not.
