About Valley Outdoor Design LLC

A January nor'easter fills the Merrimack valley from the top down — snow coming sideways over the ridge, then hours of it stacking against every door on the Amesbury and Newton lines. Valley Outdoor Design LLC runs through that night and into the grey morning, plowing driveways, shoveling walks and steps by hand, and putting down salt and sand where the grade turns slick, so the first person out finds pavement instead of a problem. When the valley greens again the equipment changes and the standard does not: mowing, trimming, edging and the cleanups that bracket the growing season. Merrimac's yards sit on old ground with plenty of pitch to them, and both halves of the year come down to knowing where the water goes. Cleared before dawn in winter, cut clean by evening in summer — that is the shape of it.
