Main Street Melrose still has the feel of a downtown you can walk — storefronts, the Common a block off, and behind it all the residential grid where every lot faces the sidewalk. Winter brings the plow work — driveways cleared, walkways and stairs opened, snow moved off the pavement instead of shuffled around it.
