At three in the morning Route 130 is a tunnel of falling white, and the old Meeting House up the road wears its snow the way it has for centuries. Egan Landscape Group Inc is out in it, plowing Mashpee driveways and lots, cutting walkways down to pavement, stacking banks where they won't block a sightline. Winter on the Upper Cape seldom arrives politely; it comes in sideways off the water and asks to be dealt with before dawn. The satisfaction is a quiet one — headlights sweeping across a finished driveway, then the truck moving on to the next. Nobody has to think about it, which is exactly the point.
