About Fernandes Family Landscaping & Plowing

On French Hill the houses stand shoulder to shoulder up the slope, each with its own small terraced yard, retaining wall, and flight of steps — a neighborhood built by people who worked Marlborough's shoe factories and wanted something green out front. Fernandes Family Landscaping & Plowing mows and trims exactly that kind of ground, where a lawn is measured in feet rather than acres and every edge sits against concrete or granite. In mid-summer the whole hill smells like cut grass by noon and holds the heat well past dark. Cleanups matter twice a year, when the maples fill the walls and walkways of half the street. Tight yards reward care far more than machinery, and they look wonderful when somebody bothers.
