About Mike's Landscaping & General Contracting Co., Inc.

On Malden's western side the streets simply end at the Fells, and past the last mailbox it's granite outcrop, oak and reservoir water. Mike's Landscaping & General Contracting Co., Inc. works the yards pressed up against that line — mowing, trimming and edging through the green months, plowing, shoveling and de-icing through the white ones, with a full clearing at each turn of the year. Woods-edge properties are their own animal: more leaf litter in November, deeper shade in July, more drifting where the wind comes off open ledge in February. The answer is showing up and reading the ground each time rather than running the same pattern out of habit. A yard here can be wild on one side of the wall and cut clean on the other, and that contrast is the whole pleasure of it.
