HiCleaners

About HiCleaners

The first Orange Line train out of Oak Grove runs before six, and the people on it need the steps, the walk and the driveway open before that. HiCleaners plows and shovels that early shift across Malden — drives cleared, walkways and stairs cut down to the pavement, salt laid on whatever a freeze-thaw has left behind. Winter in this city is short storms and long refreezes, so the job isn't only the plowing; it's coming back to the shady north side of a house where the sun never reaches all day. Snow gets stacked clear of the sightline at the end of a drive, where a car has to pull out into traffic. A commuter who never once has to think about the snow is the entire point.
