Fellsmere Pond holds the whole park's light — ducks at daybreak, kids on the slope by afternoon, and in January a lid of ice with skate marks scratched across it. Elkin Seasons Landscaping works the streets around it in both directions of the year: mowing, trimming and edging through the growing months, then plowing, shoveling and de-icing once the storms stack up. A Malden lot is small and tight, which means the mower lines show and the plow has nowhere lazy to put the snow — both jobs reward somebody who thinks about the geometry first. Cleanups at either end of the year clear the ground so the grass gets its chance. Done right, a yard here looks larger than it actually is.
