A nor'easter comes into Ludlow from the southeast and piles up against the higher ground on the town's eastern edge, where the streets run out toward the Belchertown line. Wurszt Landscaping works those nights — plowing, opening driveways, clearing walks, spreading salt where the wind has scoured a path down to bare ice. There's a stillness at two in the morning, the world muffled and the headlights full of falling snow, that almost nobody else in town gets to see. Come May the work is green again: mowing, bed edges recut, trimming, mulch spread front and back. Same properties, same people, entirely different weather.
